Carey is always well prepared and therefore her input is highly relevant; while her facilitation appears effortless, I know this is because of the effort and care Carey has taken to prepare. Staff have invariably reacted well to Carey’s facilitation and are always keen to work with her again. I have watched Carey facilitate training workshops, listening and relating with issues and using different mediums to capture and communicate. I have seen Carey use diagrams, colour and movement and sometimes just sitting and talking things through. Carey has the ability to analyse the audience and know how to relate to them and help them absorb training or other perspectives.

Carey has worked with me to facilitate complex consultations and collaborations for community and technical groups. Carey is a superb interface for difficult technical matters and the public. One of the reasons I have brought her into recent projects is Carey’s rare ability as facilitator to project technical understanding and, at the same time, have the skills to relate so well with technicians, politicians and the public. This is unusual.

I worked with Carey Crimmins as my executive coach in 2013 and several other projects since.
Carey is very friendly, easy going and pleasant to talk to. I looked forward to our sessions because I came away with something valuable every time I interacted with Carey.
Carey is highly intelligent and particularly good at listening to what you say and reflecting it back so you see new perspectives. Carey was patient and non-threatening and helped me see when I was talking rubbish.
For example, I am most grateful to Carey for helping me see the cracks in the mirror and my tendency to wear metaphorical ‘idiot goggles’. Taking these goggles off changed my perspective and helped me lead my team much more effectively. I swapped from seeing people as ‘needing remediation’ to ‘humans doing their best’. My role changed from disciplinarian to coach.
Carey has helped me put things into perspective, separate the do-able parts and realise I cannot solve everything. Even when I arrived angry and frustrated, Carey let me vent and get things off my chest. And then gently challenged me to see things differently and gave me the tools to deal with issues and make my life easier in the long term. Especially in terms of managing difficult people and not taking things too personally.
Working with Carey to dissect my assumptions and habits has helped me come out as a better and stronger person.

I have worked with Carey Crimmins on a variety of projects for 15 years. Carey has helped me as a training creator-designer and facilitator, as an executive coach developing individuals, teams and cultures and as an organisational development and project consultant.

Carey Crimmins helped YWCA Queensland with several projects from 2013 – 2016, including a comprehensive strategic reorientation project. Carey worked with us as consultant, facilitator and executive coach.
