Case Study: Team Development
The Challenge
A private allied health business sought assistance to facilitate a smooth transition to a new organisational leadership structure. The new structure included an increase in the number of business directors and the transition of senior practitioners to new roles as business partners.
How we helped
The objective of the process was to facilitate a smooth transition for the new leadership team and to provide assistance to the new partner-directors as they moved to their new roles. The process included:
- clarifying individual’s expectations and values for the business in an effort to ensure that views were congruent;
- facilitating a shared understanding of work preferences and skills amongst the business leaders;
- comparing the alignment of work preferences and skills with the range of skills required in the leadership team to move the business forward;
- building strong relationships (and initiating important conversations) to foster a healthy new leadership dynamic amongst the six partner-directors; and
- assisting the new partner-directors in understanding their business leadership role and responsibilities and with their transition from practitioner to partner-director.
The Outcomes
The business found this process valuable in improving the change process and in strengthening relationships. Overall team performance has improved as a result.
