360º Feedback

No matter how good you think you are as a leader… the people around you will have all kinds of ideas for how you can get better.

360º feedback is a process that involves people obtaining feedback from those who work around them and usually includes a self-assessment.  Feedback is typically received from a manager, peers, and direct reports.

The most successful 360º feedback processes are implemented as part of an overall leadership strategy and strongly emphasise its value for promoting growth and development.

All feedback should be about strengthening relationships, building awareness and reaching a shared understanding. Enhancing the meaning of 360º feedback through face-to-face conversation helps achieve this with greater clarity and speed. Organisations who choose to gather their feedback this way report value and impact way beyond their expectations.

Talk to Carey about:

  • how to integrate 360º feedback into your leadership development strategy either as part of a leadership development program or as a stand-alone process for objective setting, leadership action planning and executive coaching;
  • how 360º feedback can help your people to gain insight and awareness about their strengths and challenges as a leader;
  • the range of options available for 360º feedback including face-to-face, online and facilitated processes; and
  • the importance of always debriefing 360º feedback with an experienced Executive Coach.

Case Study:  360º Feedback

A large statutory body (5000+ employees) was committed to developing the leadership capability of 160 members of its senior technical workforce. Our consulting brief was to facilitate 360º feedback for senior technical staff and to initiate leadership action planning. Partnering with the organisation’s leaders, our consulting team designed a program encompassing:

  • 360º feedback on key leadership skills;
  • executive coaching and debriefing of 360º feedback;
  • development of leadership action plans with emphasis on behavioural objectives; and
  • help with leadership development through experiential learning modules and on-job assignments.
